The way you perform should reflect the mood and emotion of the piece

Performance Development

Performance Development

You deserve your place in the spotlight. And it’s about time someone supported you to get where you belong- Centre Stage.

I've been here before- Take me to the booking page

Performance Development is for you if you’re a more advanced player or singer, and you already have pieces you’re working on. I also work with clients who need help and advice with vocal coaching, and speaking and presentation skills.

Advice, audition or exam prep. Expression, dynamics & control. I’ll help you get the best from all these to give your most impressive performance yet. You’ll love it when the crowd goes wild!

I’ll inspire you to change your scenery & costume, so you're ready, whatever the occasion. Surprise your friends and family with your guilty pleasure and give Idina, Lin & Jonathan a run for their money! You’ll learn secrets the professionals don’t want you to know ….. For less than the cost of one ticket in the stalls!

Anyone can learn to play a piece of music or sing a song. But if your aim is to connect with your audience and make them feel the emotion of what you’re playing and singing. It takes time and character to bring it to life. I’ll help you focus with detail on specific areas of your pieces to make sure you understand and reflect it’s true message. We’ll work together with technique to tell the story and ignite the images in your listeners mind. They’ll love the magical journey you’ll take them on.

Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll learn:

  • How to speak so people listen
  • Why only playing or singing a piece is not enough
  • The art of storytelling through your playing or singing
  • How to wow your audience and leave them whooping for more (You'll learn the same technique as Bradley Cooper, which led to him winning a Grammy for 'A Star is Born')

This is suited to you if you:

  • Are a more advanced player or singer
  • Have access to an instrument or your voice to demo your amazing potential
  • Have pieces you’re working on and you want to improve
  • Want to get the best out of your performing skills
  • You want advice for audition or exam prep., speaking or presentation skills

This is not suited to you if you are:

  • Just starting out
  • Are ‘fixed’ on one way of playing or singing and won’t ‘budge’

So I understand exactly what you’re looking for, let’s chat in more detail before your lesson. Or send me an email at tuition@scottwelcommemusicservices.com so I can prepare to make sure you get the most out of your lessons with me. It would be to both our advantage if I can see examples of you performing in some capacity so I can prepare with how best to guide you.

Another added layer of trust and security for you:

Every client who books with me agrees to my tuition agreement and T’s & C’s. (Link to Agreements & Terms below)

My tuition agreement is under guidance from the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) I’ll deliver your tuition in keeping with ISM rules and regulations. This includes advice for Safeguarding. And access to up to speed webinars so I can keep upskilled too. So you can relax, knowing you’re in safe, knowledgeable hands. I also hold a current DBS Certificate.

I’ll keep up to date with the most recent training and advice in all areas of teaching and learning, plus the latest ideas for resources and software. Which means, you’re guaranteed to always receive the highest quality you deserve.

Before your first lesson starts:

  • Make sure your tuition agreement is completed
  • Sign it & return to me by email as a PDF

This’ll guarantee all the immediate paperwork is done & dusted, so we can focus with music making!

The great news is- if you email it properly, it won’t get ‘lost in the post’.

You’ll also need to read and agree the T’s & C’s, so you know exactly what to expect for your lessons with me.

This does not need to be sent back to me.

Once we’re set and agree, we can move forward with ruling the galaxy together! Only kidding. Once we get started, you’ll feel like a Jedi, though. With so much good energy flowing, you’ll be ready to use your force and make change for the better.

If you’re wondering “Why on earth do I need to complete an agreement. And read and agree T’s & C’s?!”

Here’s why:

You build relationships through trust and feeling safe. Every client agrees to the tuition agreement and T’s & C’s.

  • You want to be able to sleep at night and know I’ve got your back for wellbeing
  • You want to discover your capabilities. And you want confidence from a world class mentor
  • You want a clear path of how that’s going to happen. And you want to know that you’re not wasting your time and money on a teen who’s looking for pocket money

That’s why I put these extra bits in place. To make sure you’re safe and you get the best you deserve in a secure online learning environment.

No need to worry about shoddy excuses and poor quality teaching. You deserve the high quality, outstanding, world class provision that I offer. If you do your bit and I do mine, that’s double security- without the extra cost of a security guard!

You’ll be thankful you did it when you get your place in the spotlight. What's a bit of reading and signing paper anyway? You’d do it if it were posting on Social media or ordering online wouldn’t you?
