Hi!
I'm Scott
You have what it takes to be a Superstar and my job is to help you on your way.
Scott Welcomme: Hey, it’s Scott Welcomme here. Great you could join me today for more insight in how to write, sing and play your way to new confidence.

Scott Welcomme: If you’ve ever got bored of the usual rules that surround progress, then this video is for you. It’ll change your approach in how you show your progress forever. You’ll learn why using this method will boost your confidence. And you’ll have great fun in doing it too.
Scott Welcomme: You want confidence in your ability, right? To know that what you’ve been working on has been worth it. And you’ve made good progress. So how do you know if you’re right? Well, the answer is- you teach. Technically, I’m the teacher, right? But where’s the fun in having to follow rules all the time? Isn’t it more fun for you to be the one in charge? So today you’ll learn; When you show someone how to do what you’ve learned. You become the teacher. Or master for some.
*Darth Vader from Star Wars- Now I am the Master*
Scott Welcomme: Here’s what you’ll learn. Why you don't have to be so serious when you demonstrate what you've been working on. How you can be in control of your own learning. And set your own path for improvement. You don't have to be the greatest singer to be an entertainer! How to break things down when you teach others- it's probably the best way that you'll learn too.
Scott Welcomme: Most of us teach in some way or another everyday without a thought. We adapt and change the way we think and do things all the time. So why do so few of us do that when it comes to our own learning? In today’s video I’m not gonna go into the treasure trove of studies that surround various techniques and, uh, styles of feedback and progress. But what I will do is share with you a different type of feedback. With my special guest, Derek. And you’re gonna love it. Sit back, relax. Have a great time. And learn, and teach at the same time. I’ll see you on the other side.
Scott Welcomme: Hi Derek. Thanks for meeting with us today. Just um, catch up with what you’ve been doing in Year seven for music. Yeah, You wanna tell us about it, please?
Derek: Yeah sure Mr Welcomme. What we’ve been doing, we’ve been looking at Last Christmas, you know the song by Wham. And uh, I chose to play Ukulele. And uh, I could only play the C chord like this *plays chord once* before. And now I can play it like this *plays chord several times with a bouncy rhythm*
Derek: And then you see, I gotta change to these green ones here. For the F chord. And I could only play it like this before *plays chord once* And now, I can play it like this *plays chord several times with a bouncy rhythm*
Derek: Look. I can even go from C *plays chord several times with a bouncy rhythm* change to F *plays chord several times with a bouncy rhythm* And then d’you know what. I can even go to this one look. I can do a G chord too. *plays chord several times with a bouncy rhythm* Then I can go back to C again *plays chord several times with a bouncy rhythm*
Scott Welcomme: Thanks, Derek. That’s awesome news. That’s great progress. Do you think, uh, have you missed a chord out. Do you think you could play an A minor for us as well. Have you learnt that one yet?
Derek: Yeah sure, I’ve been working on it. It’s a little bit more tricky right. But it’s this top one here. Just this top green one. If I play that, I get A minor. *plays chord once* Yeah, so I could then go C *plays chord several times with a bouncy rhythm* And then I change to A minor *plays chord several times with a bouncy rhythm* Then I go to F *plays chord several times with a bouncy rhythm* Then I change to this yellow one G.
Scott Welcomme: That’s great, Derek. That’s really good progress. Do Ya think there’s anything else you’d work on? What could you change? Maybe the speed, tempo there or maybe change the strumming pattern. Just to make it a little bit more interesting, show a bit more further progress?
Derek: Yeah, uh sure, Derek. I’ve been uh, I’ve been slowly working on it with my friends you see. We’ve added in a bass and a guitar and even a drummer in our group as well. It’s sounds wicked right. And uh, I’m gonna play it like this. We’re gonna go.
*Derek demonstrates playing and singing*
Last Christmas, I gave you my heart. And the very next day, you gave it away. This year, to save me from tears. I ‘ll give it to someone special.
Derek: I sound awesome done I. Yeah, it’s wicked. Alright. Cheers
Scott Welcomme: Wow, Derek. Um. Perhaps we could work on the singing a little bit do you think? Um, maybe sound even better. What is this?! Maybe it would sound even better if you collaborate as a group now. Maybe that’s something you could do as your next stage. But thanks very much for sharing your progress. It’s lovely to see how far you’ve come. Before, you weren’t quite sure with those. You could only just strum one chord. And now you’re playing different strumming patterns, different rhythm. It’s lovely to see. Thanks for meeting with us today.
Derek: That’s no problem, uh , uh , duh, uh, yeah. Alright then. Bye.
Scott Welcomme: Don’t be afraid to break the barrier of the usual rules and the norm to do what works best for you. So when was the last time you broke with the traditional rules. And approached your learning in a slightly different way to show what you’re really capable of. What was your favourite part of the video and what was your biggest takeaway that you’ll be able to use in your own teaching and learning? Remember, whatever you’re sharing for your takeout in the comments could help somebody else spring into action.
Scott Welcomme: Leave a comment below and let me know. Share as much detail as possible in your takeout.
Scott Welcomme: Remember if you know how to tap, walk, move, dance, click. Make a sound, or have a heartbeat. You’re already a musician. All you gotta do is put things in order.
Scott Welcomme: I would love to help you how to do that. So click subscribe. Go to the website in the description here. And see how I can boost your confidence. And change your life through music right now.
